Start writing freeNo card to start · a card begins the trial when you publish
How the trial works
-
1
Create an account and write. Drafts, previews and importing your history need no card and are free for up to one year.
-
2
Publishing your first entry starts the trial: 7 days with everything on the plan. A card is required to start it, and is not charged during it.
-
3
When it ends, the card is charged $19 and billed monthly from then on.
-
4
Cancel before the trial ends and nothing is taken. Cancel later and you keep access until the paid period runs out.
If you ever stop paying: your published changelog stays online and readable for one year. You simply can't write new entries until you subscribe again.
Questions people ask
Is there a free tier?
Not for publishing. A permanent free tier would mean holding features back or putting our badge on your page — we'd rather do neither. Writing and previewing drafts is free for up to one year; publishing starts 7 days with everything unlocked, then one paid plan.
What happens to my changelog if I cancel?
It stays online at the same address, your own domain included, for one year after your subscription ends, so links you have shared keep working for that year. Writing is what stops: no new or edited entries, so no emails to your subscribers, and the widget stops showing entries until you subscribe again.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes, from the first day of the trial. Point a CNAME at us and add the hostname in your workspace settings; the certificate is handled for you.
Who handles payment?
Stripe. Card details go straight to them and are never stored here.
Can I bring my existing changelog with me?
Yes. Import it from an RSS or Atom feed, a CSV export or a CHANGELOG.md. Entries keep their original dates, you see a preview of every one before anything is written, and your subscribers are not emailed about history.
Do my readers get tracked?
No. Your changelog loads nothing from anyone else — no trackers, no third-party fonts — and we do not measure your readers. People who subscribe by email confirm their address first and can leave with one click.
Is there a feed?
Every changelog has an Atom feed, and every entry has a page of its own, so a release can be followed, linked and shared like anything else on the web.
Does the plan include a feedback board and a roadmap?
Yes, both, in the same plan and on the same domain as your changelog. No add-on and no extra charge. Your users sign in by email link to post ideas and vote; you review, reply, set a status and link an idea to the entry that shipped it, and voters see the change when they visit. Neither tab sends email. Voters are never counted or capped, and neither tab carries a badge of ours.
Is anything metered?
No. There are no seats, no add-ons and no per-reader, per-subscriber or per-voter charges: $19 a month is the whole bill. Two safeguards exist so that one account cannot wreck email delivery for every other customer: an account can send up to 100,000 release-note emails a month and have up to 25,000 subscribers. They are abuse controls, not a tier, and there is nothing to upgrade to. If you ever reach one, write to us. It is a support email, not an invoice.
How do I get help?
Write to [email protected]. It reaches the person who builds this, and you will get an answer from them.
